On November 4 and 5, 1978, Boston performed in their hometown for the first time since they became stars. The band played in front of sold-out crowds at the Boston Garden each night.

Boston is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. They achieved most of their success during the 1970s and 1980s. Tom Scholz, its founder, is also a guitarist, keyboardist, songwriter, and producer. In addition, he invented the Rockman portable guitar amplifier.

Boston is a critical component of classic rock radio playlists. Their best-known works include "More Than a Feeling", "Peace of Mind", "Rock and Roll Band", "Don't Look Back", and "Amanda". They have sold more than 75 million records worldwide, including 31 million albums in the United States. 17 million were from their self-titled debut album, “Boston”, and seven million were for their second album, “Don't Look Back”. Their song "We're Ready" was a top 10 hit and another track, "Can'tcha Say", was a top 30 hit. "More Than A Feeling" reached number 5 in 1976 and "Don't Look Back" made it to number 4 in 1978.

Boston’s third album titled “Third Stage” was released on September 23, 1986. The lead song was “Amanda”, which unfortunately leaked out of the studio in 1984. However, both the album and lead single "Amanda" went to Number 1 on Billboard. This was their first and only number one single; it charted on November 8, 1986.

Boston is still an active band. They have released a total of six studio albums since 1976, which continues to give us peace of mind.
