If you find yourself in The Sunshine State and are looking for something to do besides an amusement park, then hop on Interstate 95 and head south to the Everglades Alligator Farm. This farm is home to several alligators and is South Florida's oldest gator farm. Alligators have become a Florida staple but were nearly hunted to extinction. However now, thanks to conservation efforts they;re flourishing and tourists and locals alike seek out these beautiful and mysterious creatures,
You can venture into the swamps of the Everglades on air-boat. As you glide along the glass like water, be on the lookout for the eyes of the Alligators sticking out of the water. You might think they're a log at first, but upon careful examination you'll see that you're face to face with one of America's oldest species of wildlife.

The knowledgeable guides at The Everglades Alligator Farm know how to spot a gator from yards away and will also inform you of the history of this unique area of the country. In addition to gators, you'll see several species of birds and maybe a frog or two!
The Everglades Gator Farm also offers shows and feedings for their resident gators. You can book a private tour and get more info about showtimes on their website www.everglades.com
Just make sure you pack your camera in a water proof case as the water can splash up onto the seats. As their website clearly states, "there are no dry seats on the boat!"
