The Vasquez Rocks acted as the backdrop to Captain Kirk and a lizard man in the Star Trek episode "Arena." The rocks became the real-life Bedrock in the live action Flintstones movie staring John Goodman. Not to mention the countless westerns that used the Vasquez Rocks as their location for final showdowns.
