If you're planning a trip to southern California in the near future, be sure to check out the Petersen Automotive Museum. Located on famous Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, this newly-built, funky-looking museum features three floors of cars!

Guests are encouraged to start on the third floor which goes into the history of the automobile. This collection features all kinds of odd contraptions that have been donated by collectors. See how the engine was invented and what early concepts made it through the early years of car manufacturing.

The second floor focuses on the industry of cars and car manufacturing. With the advent of the combustible engine, cars were able to be made quicker, and with more cars on the road, the industry became dynamic and changed with the world around it. Explore the ways the industry evolved over the years to deal with things like environmental concerns and the building of the interstate system.

The first floor is all about artistry! This is where the museum explores all the blood, sweat, and creative tears that go in to making and creating the beautiful cars that both excite and inspire. You'll see everything from new concepts to refurbished classics, and even cars used in the movies.

So rev your engines and get on over to the Petersen Automotive Museum. You'll learn a lot and have tons of fun. Just try to resist the urge to drive a vehicle off the museum floor!
