The Truth Behind Mothman!

Deep in the woods of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, there lurks a creature that defies science! The elusive Mothman is a creature of death whose presence is said to predict disasters. This half man/half moth hybrid is known to have a six foot wing span and brightly glowing, red eyes. This creature spawned a movie staring Richard Gere entitled The Mothman Prophecies. But what do the eyewitnesses say is the truth behind the mythical Mothman?

A group of teenagers back in the 50's decided to go explore an old TNT storage facility. It was a usual teen hangout spot in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.. After some partying, a woman noticed a pair of red glowing eyes looking back her. The group got in their car and fled! Reports say the Mothman followed the car for a while, before vanishing into the night.

Another eyewitness account said the Mothman was sighted just before the 1967 Silver Bridge collapse. This has led many to believe that the Mothman is not so much a "monster" as it is just an omen of destruction.

The mystery of The Mothman lives on and to this day the residents of Point Pleasant, West Virginia have a mutual respect of the Mothman. One thing is for sure, the elusive Mothman will continue to both fascinate and mystify us for years to come.
