Over the years there have been several iconic cars used in films. None compare to the remarkable and legendary 1968 Mustang GT that Steve McQueen drove in the hit film Bullit. Perhaps what is so fascinating about this picture car is that for a while no one knew where it was. Despite several pleas from McQueen to add the car to his personal collection, the car was nowhere to be found after filming wrapped in 1968.

That is, until recently! It was found in a scrapyard in Baja California somewhat by accident. The car was discovered by Hugo Sanchez, an associate for a restoration company in Mexico that specializes in creating the "Eleanor" car from Gone In 60 Seconds. Sanchez thought the scrapped car would make a perfect candidate for a potential Eleanor, so he brought it back to his shop. It wasn't until they ran the VIN number that they discovered it was the missing Bullit Mustang!

Experts from Ford were brought in and they confirmed that the car was indeed one of the two cars used in the picture. One of the car's whereabouts is still unknown but this Jumper car (the one used for the stunts in the movie) is now sitting refurbished and awaiting the highest bidder.
