If you're an avid traveler, you know just how frustrating packing a suitcase can be. Sometimes the thought is so dreadful that it results in complete procrastination. Putting the activity off until the last minute may result in you just haphazardly throwing your belongings into the suitcase and zipping up. This may result in you having the wrong type of clothes when you reach your destination. Consider these tips the next time you have to pack and run!

To roll or not to roll?

Many people fold up their clothes before putting them in their suitcase. But you can also roll your T-shirts and pants. This will allow for more space and you'll find your suitcase does not fill up nearly as quickly. If you know you're going to have a washer/dryer at your destination, this is especially a good option as rolling your clothes will likely cause some wrinkles. So skip the folding and start rolling!

Don't mix toiletries with fabric

Since you will likely be putting shampoos and other liquids in your suitcase, it's important to make sure you put these in a separate compartment. The last thing you want is to reach your destination and open your bag to find that your entire wardrobe is now covered in toothpaste. Use a little zip-lock baggie and be sure to place all your potential "leakables" in a separate zippered compartment of your suitcase. This will ensure that you and your clothes arrive dry.

All in the timing

Packing doesn't have to cause you major anxiety. Traveling can already be a stressful ordeal. You should be focusing on getting to your destination, not which band's T-shirt you're gonna bring. Don't become overwhelmed by your suitcase; you can remedy this by packing early. If you know you have a trip coming up at the end of the week, start packing on Monday. This will take away the stress that can come from travel. You never know if your flight is running early, or if your friend bails on driving you to the airport. By packing early, you will eliminate at least one of the standard traveling disasters.
